It’s the end of the year, which means all the gift guides have been replaced with the best-of-the-year guides. Here’s mine—sort of.
First, a snapshot of my day so far, the second weekday with all the kids, who are home for three weeks.
I got up at 7 am, ate breakfast, and went on a walk. I’m in the final two hours of listening to Red Comet, the biography of Sylvia Plath by Heather Clark. I am now days away from Plath’s suicide, which occurred only a couple of weeks after England’s Big Freeze, their coldest days of the twentieth century, when it was below freezing for a month straight.
