This is the very last call for my sale, which celebrates 100 issues (!) of the “It’s Friday” newsletter, available to paying subscribers only. Today is the last day to get 25% off! That’s $3.75 a month, or $37.50 for the year. A steal!
Paying subscribers receive this email every Friday. This is a short newsletter devoted to topics I’m interested in, including but not limited to parenting, writing, reading, fashion, food, and on and on. Paying subscribers also get the occasional longer essay that I wouldn’t want to share widely…
Thank you for supporting my work.

I planned to write a newsletter about novel writing—there’s some craft stuff rattling around my head that I want to get into! Alas, that will have to wait until next week; summer break began Wednesday, and, without childcare, things got dicey.
Also, after writing about logging off social media and generally breaking up with my phone, I thought I’d send this companion piece about my media consumption choices.
In his book, Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture, Kyle Chayka writes about the agency and pleasure of curation. That’s been on my mind as I divest from the algorithm as much as I can. Keep reading to hear how I’m curating my music and books.
