A family trip to Denmark

Well, folks, I’m back from Denmark.

Whenever somebody asks how the trip was, I have a hard time answering. How to properly convey the wide array of emotions experienced?

Sometimes I say, “It was great!” and move on because that’s what most people want to hear anyway. No one cares about your European vacation!

If I’m in the mood to be honest, I’Il say, “The highs were high and the lows were low.” If the person I’m conversing with is a fellow parent, that’s all I really need to say. They laugh and nod knowingly.
