This newsletter is going to be all over the map today because I couldn’t decide what to write about. Politics | fires and their aftermath | kid illness | upcoming travel has me scattered. My brain is like a box at a garage sale marked MISCELLANEOUS: in there a pair of high heels lies next to a rubber lizard next to an egg beater.
Okay, first, an announcement: I sent $425 to Reproductive Freedom for All! Thank you to the new paid subscribers for raising these funds. Sending this donation was the perfect antidote to the week’s madness. (So was calling my representatives!)
Related to this topic, I’m looking forward to reading Abortion Stories: American Literature before Roe v. Wade, which comes out in March.

This week, I’ve been busy teaching/grading, finishing a magazine assignment (that I’ve been working on since September, yikes), and, as I mentioned, preparing to travel.
