Oooh, I love several of these. One fav is 27 (I think 27) regarding the word ground vs. floor. When in the hell did that start?? I hear it in fiction and out of the mouths of on-scene reporters....I have reacted with, “Wait, that upscale home where they found the crime victim has a master bedroom with made of yard dirt?!??”
Ha! I admit my mind was blown when I was taught this, as obvious as it is! (Not sure where this was pointed out to me--apologies to my teacher, or whoever it was.) It's funny how a small inaccuracy occurs enough in everyday speech that it carries into writing...
I LOVE LISTS! I'm no fiction writer, but these sound like excellent pointers. Instead of starting on my novel, I'll content myself with pre-ordering yours. Can't wait until August 1!
